Walking in the Sierra de Montánchez

The Alegría motorhome stop is situated on the edge of the beautiful Sierra de Montánchez nature reserve. Several well-signposted walking routes start from Montánchez, ranging from around 3 to 18 kilometres or more.
A number of routes start in the village, whilst the Ruta El Robleda even passes right by Camperstop Alegría. Information on the routes and walking opportunities in the area is also available at the information point at the Camperstop.

If you venture further afield, you’ll find countless ancient footpaths around Montánchez. They take you through the characteristic landscape of Extremadura, past olive groves and unspoilt nature, with stunning views along the way. On a clear day, you can even see the Gredos Mountains, with their snow-capped peaks in winter – some 140 kilometres away.

Explore on your own or set off together?
You can, of course, set off on an adventure on your own. But would you like to discover the most beautiful spots without having to plan the route yourself? Then you can join ‘Walking with Ninka’ a few times a week.
